The Governing Board of Garfield County Hospital District is comprised of 5 elected commissioners. The Commissioners are the governing authority of the district, they appoint the Chief Executive Officer, assure compliance with regulations, monitor performance, and direct the affairs of the district.
Board meetings are open to the public. Regular board meetings are held each month on the First Monday of each month starting at 6:00 pm.
The Board of Commissioners will hold their Regular Board Meetings at the Senior Center at 695 Main Street, Pomeroy, WA

Cindy Wolf, Chairman of Board of Commissioners

Cindy was appointed to the GCHD Board of Commissioners in   January 2015 and was elected as a Commissioner in 2016.  Cindy Wolf moved to Garfield County in November 2003 after her marriage to farmer, Ray Wolf.  She grew up on a ranch south of Lewiston, ID and attended both University of ID and LCSC.  Her first paying job was as a grain truck driver and grain elevator operator. She worked at a small book publisher/press and then at a book distribution company following college.  She more recently retired from Cambia Health Solutions, a medical insurance firm.  Cindy enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and animals.  She also appreciates time spent reading, baking, and tending flowers.



Chris Herres, Secretary of Board of Commissioners

Chris Herres is a native of Pomeroy, Washington. He was born and raised   in Garfield County and attended school graduating from Pomeroy High School in 1977. He grew up on the family farm raising wheat, barley and cattle and currently operates Herres Land Company. Chris has been appointed Secretary of Board of Commissioners since 2015 and his goal is to help make positive changes for the hospital and the community. He has been married for 30 years to his wife, Mary, who is a RN at Garfield County Hospital District. Together they have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. His enjoys his free time hunting, camping, and spending time with his family.


   Steven Cannon, Board of Commissioner

Steven is a District Manager for OneMain Financial overseeing $80 million in assets. Starting his career with OneMain back in 2000 Steve has managed several different offices and district throughout Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Steven attended college at Washington State University where he received his bachelor’s in business management.   While at WSU he met his wife, Elizabeth who teaches at Pomeroy Elementary.  They have two beautiful children, Peyton and Kennedy.  Steven and his family take advantage of every free moment they have and pack their weekends full of adventures of every kind.


Mike Field, Board of Commissioner

Mike Field graduated from WSU with a pharmacy degree in 1972. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he completed a one-year hospital pharmacy residency and then worked as a pharmacist for the next 4 years in the Wenatchee and Seattle areas. After accepting a position as the Administrator for Garfield County Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home in 1977, he and his wife, Janie (Bartlow) relocated to Pomeroy to raise their family. In 1979, he began operating his own pharmacy business, Brown’s Drug Store. He remained there for 10 years and eventually become joint owners of the Pomeroy Pharmacy over the next 27 years until his retirement in 2015. He has served on the hospital board for several years in the past and most recently was elected their newest commissioner. Mike is dedicated to this community and to helping benefit health care services for Garfield County Hospital District. In his spare time, he stays active in his church functions, participates in a variety of community events, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. 

Jennifer Dixon, Board of Commissioner

Jennifer has been with Tri-State Clearwater Medical Clinic since 2003 and is currently working in the capacity as a Care Coordinator and Suboxone Program Coordinator.  Jennifer’s dedication to patient centered medicine and her continuous proactive patient advocacy is a valuable asset as a Board Commissioner.  Jennifer is a native of Pomeroy, she is married to Justin Dixon and together they have a beautiful daughter, Autumn and new baby boy, Knox.  Jennifer and her husband enjoy hunting, camping, hiking and all the other outdoor recreation that this area has to offer.
